Inhibitory effect on aggregation of amyloid β peptides
Inhibitory effect on aggregation of amyloid β peptides

Exploratory Research

Measured value Inhibition (%)
Animal species Human
Indication of the result The rate of decrease (%) of aggregation of amyloid β peptides as compared to aggregation before test drug treatment is shown. Positive values indicate inhibitory effect on aggregation of amyloid β peptides.
Target diseases of assay Brain, Nervous system
Assay level Cell-free
Protocol of assay 1) The value of fluorescence polarization of solution of FITC-labelled amyloid β peptides was measured using an excitation wavelength of 485 nm and an emission wavelength of 530 nm. 2) The solution was incubated for 90 min at 37 °C, and the degree of aggregation of amyloid β peptides was measured by the increase in the value of fluorescence polarization. 3) 2 μL of test drug was mixed with 52 μL of the solution, and the mixture was incubated for 30 min at 37 °C. The decrease in the value of fluorescence polarization was measured.
