Protocol of assay 1) HepG2 human hepatoma cells were cultivated in culture medium in the presence or absence of test drugs. 2) The cells were harvested and treated with methanol with KOH. Metabolites were extracted with n-hexane. 3) The metabolites in the extracts were derivatized and determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
