Inhibitory effect on morphological changes of breast cancer cells
Inhibitory effect on morphological changes of breast cancer cells

Exploratory Research

Measured value Others
Animal species Human
Indication of the result The inhibitory activities of each drug were indicated as "2; strongly inhibited morphological changes", "1; significantly inhibited morphological changes", and "0; no effects". In cases cells became round and dead, the effects were indicated as "-1" and "-2", respectively.
Target diseases of assay Cancer
Assay level Cell-based
Protocol of assay 1) MDA-MB-231 cells were plated at 5x10^4 cells per well in 24-well dish in OPTI-MEM. 2) Treat cells with test drugs at a concentration of 10 mM for natural compounds or 10 mg/mL for herbal extracts. 3) Add conditioned medium from MCF10A cells diluted at 1 to 10. 4) At 4 h after treatment, observe cell morphology under a phase-contrast microscopy.
