Pharmacological effects Suppression of the central nervous system, antitussive, expectorant (ethanol extract, water soluble extract), antihypertension (peptidoglycan), antitumor (glycans), decrease in blood sugar (ganoderan A, B, C), antiandrogen (ethanol extract), natural killer (NK) cell activation (hot-water extract).
Indications As a tonic and tranquilizer, it is applied to treat chronic illnesses such as nervous breakdown, insomnia, indigestion, cough due to senile bronchitis. In Japan, as folk medicine, it is applied for hyperlipemia, angina pectoris, arrhythmia, hepatitis, peptic ulcer and diabetes mellitus. The use of anticancer drug has been developed.
